The Janani Project, carried out by the Campaign for Free and Fair Elections (CaFFE) to enhance the digital literacy of grassroots female politicians, was launched today (09) in Vavuniya.
A large number of female local councillors in Vavuniya took part in the workshop held at Nelly Star Hotel, Vavuniya.


The participants were educated on the importance of digital literacy as well on holding media briefings and facing questions from the media. Mr. Jayaranjan Yogaraj, Senior journalist and Media Secretary of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs ministry led the proceedings, while Assistant Commissioner of Local Government, Mr. T. Ratheeswaran too addressed the meeting.
CaFFE Executive Director, Ahmed Manas Makeen, CaFFE Vavuniya District Coordinator, Dr. R. Manoraj and long term elections observer, Mr. Rajmohan too took part in the workshop.
