An awarding ceremony was held on June 10, 2025, at the Al-Muneera Balika Maha Vidyalaya auditorium in Eravur to honor the volunteer monitors who participated in the monitoring process of the last Presidential and Parliamentary elections in Batticaloa District.
Over a hundred volunteers joined with CaFFE Organization to take part in the election monitoring process during the past Presidential and Parliamentary elections. Notably, a significant number of young men and women, including students who had sat for the Advanced Level examinations, university undergraduates, and graduates, actively contributed as volunteers in a commendable manner.
In particular, these volunteers played a key role in several initiatives organized by CaFFE during the last Parliamentary elections in Batticaloa District. This included the 18+ Voters’ Awareness Campaign conducted across various areas, the “Let’s Unite for a Peaceful Election” campaign, election day monitoring, and vote counting observation efforts. All of these were carried out with no profit motive, showcasing the volunteers’ dedication and sense of civic responsibility.
The event was presided over by Alhaj Meera Shaqib, the Coordinator of the Batticaloa District CaFFE Election Monitoring Organization, with Batticaloa District Government Agent Ms. J.J. Muralitharan participating as the Chief Guest.
