A workshop of the Janani Project, carried out by the Campaign for Free and Fair Elections (CaFFE) to enhance the digital literacy of grassroots female politicians, was held today (10) in Kilinochchi.
A large number of female local councillors in Kilinochchi took part in the workshop held at Solaivanam Guest House, Kilinochchi.
The participants were educated on the importance of digital literacy as well on holding media briefings and facing questions from the media. Mr. Jayaranjan Yogaraj, Senior journalist and Media Secretary of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs ministry led the proceedings, while Assistant Elections Commissioner Mr. G.M. Gnanathailan too addressed the meeting. CaFFE Executive Director, Ahmed Manas Makeen, spoke of the importance of digital literacy. Chavakachcheri PS deputy chairman Mr. S. Mayuran and a representative of Assistant Commissioner of Local Government’s office too took part in the workshop.
